Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment
Registered Training Organisations have a responsibility to identify the language, literacy and numeracy needs of all participants prior to the delivery of training and assessment services. This enables a training organisation to tailor its support services to meet individual student requirements.
This Pre-Evaluation Assessment tool is designed to assess the core skills of learning, reading, writing and numeracy as described in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). If you have previously undertaken an LLN Assessment with NHST prior, please notify our staff as you will not be required to complete again.
Instructions:
- This evaluation is designed as a written assessment and should take approximately 10-20 minutes (Please note if you require this assessment to be verbal, please contact to arrange to speak with one of our friendly staff)
- If you do not understand the question, you may ask for assistance
- You must not use any other resources or equipment such as a dictionary or Internet however a calculator is permitted.
The six tasks you will carry out in this evaluation tool are similar to the tasks you may undertake in the course you are enrolled in.
This is not a test and is not counted towards your overall results. It is designed to help you and your trainer identify areas where you may require assistance. Your trainer will use the information from this tool to help design your training support program should one be required. In the instance NHST may not be able to offer certain LLN services, they will offer a recommendation of support services that could be of assistance.
