HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Our Provide First Aid course will provide you with up to date first aid procedures. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance. This program teaches participants how to respond to first aid situations and manage patient care until an ambulance arrives.

Course Outcomes

On successful completion of this training course, candidates will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment with the unit of competency HLTAID011 Provide first aid issue by New Horizons Safety & Training Services RTO 31372.

Reaccreditation 

The Provide First Aid certification remains current for three years, although the Australian Resuscitation Council recommends refreshing CPR skills annually.

New Horizons Safety & Training Services recognises that whilst there is a standard set of learning outcomes for this course, the context and environment in which the learning is applied is varied. We will always customise the course to suit your unique workplace requirements. Please ask our staff about alternate training and assessment strategies that can be designed should you have prior experience or knowledge including but not limited to change in course days, disability options, LLN support where applicable, Credit Transfer/RPL and in house one on one.

Course Pre-Requisites
Participants must be able to kneel on the floor to conduct CPR cycles for a minimum or two minutes.

Photo identification to be provided on the day your program commences.

This training program requires basic reading, writing and numeracy skills.

Credit Transfer
Credit Transfer is a process that provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for units/qualifications that can be identified as equivalent in content. Please discuss this option upon enrolment if you feel your learning outcome can be matched with a current unit or qualification you may already hold

Study Pathway

Participants whom have successfully completed First Aid training may be interested in extending their knowledge and undertaking the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course, that is typically run on the same day.
