HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and & HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Do you require practical first aid skills? This program will provide you with up to date first aid and CPR procedures. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance.

Course Outcomes
On successful completion of this training course, candidates will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment with the unit of competencies HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation issued by New Horizons Safety & Training Services (RTO Number 31372)

Once you have successfully completed this course your First Aid skills will be valid for 3 years. However, the CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually for you to keep your certification current.

New Horizons Safety & Training Services recognises that whilst there is a standard set of learning outcomes for this course, the context and environment in which the learning is applies is varies. We will always customise the course to suit your unique workplace requirements if required. Please ask our friendly staff about training and assessment strategies that can be designed should you have prior experience or knowledge including but not limited change in course days, disability options, LLN support where applicable, credit transfer/rpl options and in house one on one if required.

Assessment may be conducted using the following methods:

  • Portfolio
  • Written Questions and Answers
  • Role play/Demonstration Assessment

Upon successful completion of this program the participant will be issued a Statement of Attainment from New Horizons Safety & Training Service RTO 31372 for the below units:

  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid and
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Course Pre-Requisites

  • Please note that this program requires a physical aspect where the candidate is required to kneel on the floor and apply compression demonstrations for more than 2 minutes at a time. If this practical component presents as an issue for you, please contact us before enrolling.
  • Photo identification is required on the day your program commences

Student Support and Language, Literacy and Numeracy 
This training program requires basic reading, writing and numeracy skills.
Prior to enrolling please contact New Horizons Safety and Training Services to discuss our support services if required. NHST will ask for a LLN indicator to be completed prior to enrolment where the student can no demonstrate to at least a level 2 of the framework.

Credit Transfer
Credit Transfer is a process that provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for units/qualifications that can be identified as equivalent in content. Please discuss this option upon enrolment if you feel your learning outcome can be matched with a current unit or qualification you may already hold
