Scissor Lift/Vertical Lift – RIIHAN301E – Operate Elevating Work Platform (under 11m only)

This program is for participants requiring training in the use of scissor lifts and boom-type EWPs under 11m.

This program can often been known or equivalent to the ‘Yellow Card’ training. Please be aware that “Yellow Cards” are issued by an independent industry body outside of the VET framework. You do not require a Yellow Card to operate an EWP specifically scissor lift or vertical lift.

We do not issue a physical “Yellow Card” for our program. Please see course outcomes for more information.

RIISAM202D – Isolate and Access Plant

RIISAM202D – Isolate and Access Plant

The Isolate and Access Plant (RIISAM202D) training program explains the procedures for performing isolation and de-isolation. The 1 day program will outline how to identify plant to be isolated, apply work permit procedures and perform hazard identification and risk analysis prior to starting work.

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational, service or maintenance roles on fixed or mobile mechanical plant and equipment, at worksites within the following industries:

Civil construction
Coal mining

Designed for new entrants or those updating their skills after a period of time, this Standard 11 – Surface Induction has been specifically designed for candidates wishing to obtain a Generic Induction Passport, which will allow them to enter and work on a Coal Mine Site in Queensland. 2 Pathway options are available.

Basic First Aid – HLTAID003 Provide first aid.

Our Provide First Aid course will provide you with up to date first aid procedures. You will learn how to respond in an emergency situation, communicate details of the incident and evaluate your own performance. This program teaches participants how to respond to first aid situations and manage patient care until an ambulance arrives.

CPR – HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This program offers CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) fundamentals for new and returning students. This program provides participants with the confidence and competence required to perform CPR on an unconscious casualty.

LV/CPR – Low Voltage Switchboard Rescue and CPR

This course provides the participant with the skills on how to manage danger of accidental electrocution and the requirements of providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. At the completion of the course you will be competent to rescue and provide resuscitation to a person who has stopped breathing or is unconscious due to electrical shock. This program is suitable for electricity supply workers who undertake the installation and/or maintenance of network infrastructure which requires workers to perform rescue from a live LV panel including conducting CPR. ESI workers are required to maintain currency to work on electrical networks.

S123 Supervisor Refresher Training

This refresher training 1 day course is for supervisors in mining & construction industries. It provides students with the opportunity to refresh the knowledge & skills required to manage work groups in relation to risk management, incident investigations & quality communications. The Supervisor Training Program course is a requirement under Qld Coal Mining Act & Regulations for people who manage others & for elected Health Safety Representatives. These 3 units form part of RII30115 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations

Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

A general construction industry safety induction white card (previously known as a ‘blue card’) is issued to a person who successfully completes training in the unit of competency CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. It is a requirement in QLD that this program be completed face to face (with the exemption to rural areas who may complete online) – please note NHST offer face to face only.
